Located in a beautiful heritage house on the Rhein, this be a place you can come home to yourself, move and reclaim your energy, and meet like-minded people.
Explore yoga as a stand alone practice or in conjunction with my other offerings (therapeutic sessions, workshops & group circles). My style blends intuition with attention and is informed by my training in Hatha, Yin, Kundalini and Ayurvedic Yoga, meditation, breathwork & energy medicine. My aim is to awaken students to their body wisdom and inner teacher, thus leading them towards healing & development of a flexible and peaceful body & mind.
More info about My Yoga Traditions.

As a Clinical Ayurvedic Practitioner, Bio-Energy Practitioner & Yoga Teacher Trainer (E-RYT 500), Melanie Madhuri Phillips has been voted among the top Ayurvedic Practitioners in Vancouver, Canada, and has a unique gift for bringing the practical wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga to yoga teachers and students alike.
Melanie has shared her knowledge and expertise with students across North America, England, India, and Mexico for more than 17 years and on such distinguished platforms as the Toronto, Victoria, & Vancouver Yoga Conferences, National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA), Wanderlust, Bellyfit Summit, Vancouver Yogathon, & My Yoga Online.
Melanie was a head faculty member of the Langara College Yoga Teacher Training Program (250 & 500hr YTT) since it’s inception in 2009 and has been a guest teacher in many teacher training programs. In addition to her Ayurvedic & Energetic Healing practice in Vancouver, Melanie continues to share her work and methods through her popular Ayurvedic Yoga DVD and book that she co-authored “Your Irresistible Life: 4 Seasons of Self-Care Through Ayurveda & Yoga Practices that Work”.
Her extraordinarily successful 65 hour Ayurvedic Yoga Advanced Teacher Training has been expanded to 85 hours of rich, inspiring and practical content. It has also opened up to serious students of yoga who have consistently practicing for 6 years +.
The Madhuri Method is a cutting edge Yoga Teacher Training and practice that provides a systematic formula for providing a sustainable yoga practice that addresses and incorporates the ancient principles and philosophy of Ayurveda: the world’s oldest holistic healing system and the sister science to yoga.
Gone are the days where we can avoid incorporating the wisdom of Ayurveda into our sadhana; the depth of understanding the individual student, their unique health concerns and psycho-emotional make-up, along with a seasonal approach that considers climate, time of day, time of year and how to bring balance for deep healing, energetic realignment, and spiritual empowerment is essential.
Each Madhuri Method class weaves the wisdom of Ayurveda into asana, pranayama, chanting, mudra, savasana, and meditation, leaving the student feeling uplifted and harmonious. The Madhuri Method gives you a step-by-step blueprint for teaching your Ayurvedic yoga class along with keen discernment and expertise to create your own Ayurvedic classes and work one-on-one with individuals.

TESTIMONIALS
Melanie's training provided such depth and provided very tangible ways of applying Ayurvedic principles to the practice of yoga. I feel my own practice has become more skillful and balanced. My students have also reported finding benefits from small, simple seasonal changes that I have offered in my classes. Thank you, Melanie.
- Jacqueline M.
This training has opened my eyes to the sister science of yoga. After teaching yoga for twelve years, I feel like I have finally found the missing piece that I have been searching for. This was more than a training for me, but a space to grow and heal. Her teaching is full of wisdom yet her ability to bring this ancient knowledge to layman’s terms was much appreciated.
- Mina Khan-Lee
I wanted to deepen my knowledge of Ayurveda with a group of like-minded teachers.
While I know there will be shifts in my teaching, the bigger shifts are already happening in my self-care practice, my yoga practice, the awareness of what I want in my personal environment. Thank you for providing your knowledge and experience.
